Today was my first day as a wedding photographer at Sandburn Hall, York but for once I was acting as second shooter. The wedding was one of my friend’s gigs but there were complications as the bride is blind, the groom almost blind and quite a few of the guests are also blind or partially sighted. So, in return for one of Ian’s famous curry and beer nights at his place, I went along as director and organiser so that I could assist with posing everyone and generally help out. I did take my camera and do a bit of second shooting and I’ve posted a small selection of my stuff below. However, I mainly acted as lighting assistant and director so that Ian could concentrate on the photography. Alex and Melissa were a great couple and very much up for the photo shoot as were all the guests. The weather was superb, if a little windy, and we got some great images for the album which, sadly, Melissa will never see after loosing her sight to an illness, but the friends and family will have some great reminders of a fabulous day in York at Sandburn Hall.
