Another week of heavy rain and a forecast of much the same for today’s wedding, backed up by the fact that it was pouring down when I got up this morning suggested another wet summer wedding! I’d resigned myself to having to shoot indoors at Hannah & David’s wedding Nostell Priory, especially as we left the groom’s house in Crofton and headed to Hannah’s mum’s house in Ackworth in steady rain. However, by the time Hannah was ready and in her dress, the skies had begun to clear slightly and I couldn’t believe that we never saw another drop of rain for the rest of the day! The day just got better as it went on with Nostell allowing us to throw confetti (because it was real dried rose petals), the skies clearing and Hannah not giving a monkeys about her dress getting dirty on the very waterlogged ground. Despite having enough dirt on the base of the dress to grow a good crop of Maris Pipers, Hannah never complained once as we shot in the rose garden and then down by the lake and in front of the house as dusk fell. Here are a few images from the day, so many to go at as ever but I need to get some on the blog before Hannah and David jet off to Kenya on Monday!
