Headingley Stadium was the venue for tonight’s shoot as school prom photographer for Royds School, Leeds. This is around the 5th year I have done the school prom photography for Royds and every year they are a great bunch of students to work with. I used the large black backdrop for the shoot which I think really sets of the prom outfits of both the boys and girls and has a nice studio feel to the images. Here is a selection of the images and the online gallery can be found here

college prospectus photographer: New college, Pontefract

Wakefield commercial photographer | college prospectus photographer | prospectus photography for schools and colleges

NEW college, Pontefract again used me as their college prospectus photographer for the 2015/16 prospectus shoot. I’ve done the photography for the college for around 5 years now and each year we aim to shoot something a little  different. This year we used the photography department’s studio to shoot some case studies on a white background so that the designers could crop out students and use them behind and in between text for a different look to the prospectus. We also shot a good selection of images of students and teachers in and around the school classrooms to capture a feel for the range of subjects on offer.

Model portfolio photographer Wakefield | Model portfolio photographer Leeds | Yorkshire model portfolio photographer

Model portfolio photographer Wakefield | portfolio updates for models West Yorkshire | Leeds Model photographer | Model portfolio photographer Yorkshire

Model portfolio photographer Wakefield: I teamed up with MUA Sarah for a model portfolio shoot for agency represented model Sophie Williams. The brief was to shoot a variety of images from headshots, through fashion and also some lingerie to give a flavour of Sophie’s scope as a model. We began with some classic beauty headshots on a white background which I set to mid-grey by not lighting it. Following this we shot some fashion images, again on a white background but again I colour-shifted it both in lighting and post. We then did some fashion but in a setting rather than on a sweep and also out in the garden where I used a Profoto B1 to create a sunny feel to the images. Moving indoors we did some more fashion and Hollywood style beauty images before finishing of with a lingerie shoot.

I love the range of images we got from the shoot and it great to have a make-up artist on board who kept the make-up looking fresh and different for each of the sets. I know Sophie is pleased with the images and has a lot of them on here profile over at Catwalk Models. If you would like an amazing portfolio shoot with myself and Sarah, then just give me a call on 01924 229800 to discuss.

Gothic wedding photographer: Adam & Laura

Gothic wedding photographer | gothic weddings | wedding photographer gothic wedding | Steampunk wedding photographer

Well, Adam and Laura’s wedding will be my first as a gothic wedding photographer but I am looking forward to it very much. The theme is black and red and there will be around 120 steampunk and goths dressed in full regalia. However, I am hoping for better weather than tonight’s pre-wedding shoot which turned out to be torrential rain! The skies were clear and bright as I left Wakefield to meet up with Adam and Laura in a spectacular churchyard on a hill down in Nottingham near to where they live, but as I headed down the M1 the skies darkened and look threatening. Still, I optimistically hoped for dark thunder skies and evening light but that was not to be. We’d just got into the churchyard when the heavens opened and it absolutely hammered it down. We bravely tried to shoot a few images but really, it was torrential and we were soaked; my T-shirt was literally stuck to me as if I’d just stepped out of a shower. The camera gear was fine as it pro equipment and weather sealed but the Profoto B1s were not so and despite having them in a carrier bags as a makeshift weatherproof coating, the rain was getting to them. These are 500w second flash units and I decided I didn’t want my lighting assistant to get frazzled by a supercharge from the flash capacitor so we ended the shoot after about 15mins! Shortest pre-wedding shoot I’ve ever done but it couldn’t be helped. Here are a few images, but really the churchyard was superb and we should have got some amazing images.

West Yorkshire fitness photographer: Louise’s fitness shoot

West Yorkshire fitness photographer

I first met Louise at her sister’s wedding where we arranged a shoot at my studio. Since then, we’ve had a couple of shoots together but now Louise has a new hobby – fitness modelling – so now she was back looking for a West Yorkshire fitness photographer that could create a fitness portfolio for her ahead of her first competition. Louise has been training hard and dieting and her body is really taking shape now. Using low key lighting on a black background accentuates the muscle tone and shows the definition of the body. One of the criteria in competing is to wear a dress as well as bikinis, so we also made the most of her new dress bought especially for the competition. I am sure she is going to do well and I am really sure we will be shooting again soon.

To book me as your West Yorkshire fitness photographer just call me on 01924 229800 or use the contact tab above.

Wakefield maternity photographer | baby bump shoot Wakefield | West Yorkshire Maternity Photographer

Wakefield maternity Photographer: Nicola & Dominic

Wakefield Maternity Photographer

Nicola found my website while looking for a Wakefield maternity photographer as she and husband Dominic really wanted to get some images of her carrying their first children. Yes, children – Nicola is expecting twins later this month and. though they are secretly hoping for one of each, will be very happy with whatever comes along :¬) One thing for sure, their lives won’t be the same again but in a really good way! As always with maternity shoots, I used a couple of backgrounds, this time opting for a high key white  and then some low key lighting on black.
