Kayleigh drove dowm from Blackpool today for a glamour portfolio shoot with me as she’s looking to become a full time glamour and promotions model and realised she needed a really strong portfolio to help her career. Having had a portfolio shoot previously with The London School of Modelling (and paying a hefty price for the shoot!!), she has realised the images are not really up to scratch and definately will not make her stand out from other girls at castings! So, she decided to make the journey down to my studio in Wakefield for another portfolio shoot. As well as my studio, I have several locations I use for various shoots depending on what look I’m after. My studio has a large space where we can shoot on various infinity curves and it also has a great bathroom, spiral staircase and private gardens but I do like to vary my locations and it keeps me creative rather than shooting in the same sets each time. For this shoot, I decided not to shoot infinity curves as she’d already done that but instead to shoot some good bedroom sets on location. Once we got past her initial nerves, Kayleigh relaxed and really enjoyed the shoot and began to loosen up and move for the camera. Modelling is not as easy as many people think and being a good natural model is a gift or a skill that certainly takes time to master. The key is to let yourself go and not to feel shy in front of the lens, simply standing in one pose with head cocked to one side isn’t going to create stunning images. Kayleigh certainly became more fluid as the shoot progressed and I think it shows in the images :¬)
